Finished Purple Blanket

October 16th, 2007

Done! Ya know, I’m not crazy about this one. It’s too small, I think, and the color is… dark. Maybe the pattern would have looked better in off-white. Nevertheless, it will keep me warm and was a great learning experience. It was the first time I got the cables to look right. Here are some pics.

I think for the next knit blanket I try, I’ll only use one strand of yarn, so the patterns are smaller and neater. I have an aran-ish pattern in mind. I’ll post about it when it’s ready.

A Pink Ripple

October 1st, 2007

I made a new blanket! This one is called “Hugs and Kisses.” The Hugs are double crochets that cross over each other, and the kisses are the puffy stitches. It’s super soft and very warm and was quite easy to make.

I used Caron Simply Soft for the pinks and Red Heart Soft for the off white. 5 mm hook, of course. Here are a few pics!

Crochet is fast! I’m still working on the purple knit…
