Montreal

August 29th, 2009

This August I visited Montreal with a few friends. We had a blast exploring the streets of Old Montreal. There’s a Notre Dame, just like in Paris!

Here are my friends!

A Christmas store and a gift shop. There was also a cupcake shop. And a possibly-crazy woman serenaded us from the side steps of Notre Dame while we ate.

I only had the camera on my phone, so I didn’t get many good pictures. Here’s a very blurry me by a creepy alley.

…and the creepy alley.

A fire exhibit near the hotel.

Sunflowers

August 29th, 2009

Here’s my latest project, a colored-pencil drawing of sunflowers. It’s based on a photo in a book called “Sunflowers.” (Clever title.)

I’m totally inspired to draw now, so perhaps there will be more of these posts. Or maybe I’ll take up pottery or scrapbooking. Just kidding.

Three New Crochet Afghans

August 29th, 2009

Afghans I made this summer:

This one looks aquatic to me. It’s the colors and the waves.

I’d wanted to make this one for a while, because I *love* daisies.

This one I threw together from a few squares I liked.

For all of them, I used Red Heart Supersaver yarn and a 5.5 mm crochet hook.
