Larry near Placa del Mar at the edge of Barceloneta

Spanish architecture is evident all over this area; vibrant colors and iron trellises.

Barceloneta by the sea. This stretch contained lots of enticing restaurants and bars.

It’s obvious from these back streets where New Orleans’ architecture came from.

Barcelona’s answer to Paris’s Sacre Coeur, the Sagrat Cor. It sits at the top of Mount Tibidabo and is surrounded by a fun park. We took a funicular to get there.

That’s Columbus atop the monument. He’s pointing to Italy rather than America. *shrugs*

Larry on the Golondrina. We circled the bay. I got a little sea sick.

Larry by a model inside the Maritime Museum. We loved this place; definitely a highlight of the trip.

Street performers crowd the avenue.

wheeee!

Carrer de Ferran connects Barri Gotic to Placa Reial. Great place to shop and eat.

In Placa Reial, vendors offered all manner of collector’s items such as bottlecaps and baseball cards.
